directed by: ho hui yue
my role: writer & director
Logline: A stern and strong-minded cafe owner remains ignorant as one of his workers shows signs of kidney disease until one day he receives a reality check.
"Rafi, You Okay?" was my first shot at directing, and diving in taught me a lot. Working with experienced classmates, I learnt a lot about filmmaking beyond just calling the shots. working with a client also taught me how to take rejection gracefully. This project wasn't just about directing a film; it was about personal growth, resilience, gaining confidence, and turning vision into reality.

my role: writer & director
Logline: After being dictated by an old typewriter to carry out horrifying acts against his own family, Adam needs to stop the malevolent machine before he spirals down further into darkness.
i ventured into the horror genre with "The Typewriter." Working alongside new crew members, I encountered challenges and setbacks, from location issues to unforeseen mishaps on set. However, through perseverance and determination, we pushed through, and created a cohesive film. as this was my 2nd time directing, i stepped into it with confidence and the knowledge i learnt from my previous short film.

In "Her Soul Engraved," I took on the roles of editor and gaffer for the first time. As a inexperienced gaffer, I faced uncertainty but embraced trial and error. Through this process, I not only contributed to the project but also learned valuable lessons in lighting and equipment. Despite initial doubts, my leap into the unknown proved to be a rewarding choice, shaping my skills and enriching my filmmaking journey.
